Idea
Winterlands – AKQA's holiday card for 2014 – brings this magic of winter into the palm of your hand. Be transported into a snow globe and send snowy holiday greetings to loved ones.
Winterlands is a mobile messaging site that lets you share season's greetings in a full 3D-animated snow globe landscape. Select one of the snowscapes, write your message and share the personalised experience with family and friends via email, SMS or social networks. When the recipient opens it, they will be able to explore the snow globe scenery in full 360 degrees, and view the greetings. Shaking the phone will make it snow inside the globe.
With a combination of several HTML 5 APIs that activate the 3D graphics, the gyroscope and accelerometer, this mobile experience requires no download or additional mobile browser software.
