Background

Australians discard over 150,000km of Christmas wrapping paper every year. But with more people seeking to limit their environmental impact, this tradition is at odds with our collective ambition to live greener. So DDB Group stepped up to create a sustainable solution this Christmas.

Idea

The idea was to invent digital wrapping paper. The first of its kind that uses a QR code to generate augmented reality gift wrap. To use the digital wrapping paper, users can simply affix the QR code to any unwrapped gift. Then the gift recipient can scan it with their smartphone and scale their virtual wrapping to fit their present. Helping Australians limit their environmental impact, for a greener Christmas.
