Background

In this film—the first ever created for Spotify—the music service shows the world what it stands for: We are Spotify. And we are for music. Not only is Spotify establishing itself as the place where people can experience music, but it's also celebrating the immense power of music. Visually, Spotify wanted to amplify this power by showing the journey of one person being carried by a sea of people – by music. This is designed to be a moment all viewers could put themselves into. It purposefully doesn’t use music so that it can conjure a different music memory for everyone.

Idea

In each of the films, Spotify focuses on a single moment that shows how powerfully music can impact a person’s life, and illustrates the range of human emotion music spans. These three simple, individual moments show just a few ways that music can affect and transport us. In these intimate scenes we show how music evokes nostalgia and allows us to lose our inhibitions and overcome routine.

Results

The campaign just launched in March, so no substantive results currently exist.
