Background
Telia is an international telco with its headquarters in Stockholm. The people most at risk from Covid-19 are the over- 70s. In isolation, they had very little social contact with the outside world.
Idea
Because the Telia network was, in many instances, the only connection between a grandparent on his or her own and their grandchildren, Telia gave unlimited free data to everyone over the age of 70.
Throughout the pandemic they could stay in touch with the outside world easily and without worrying about the cost.
To launch the plan, a 60-second film was created where isolated older people sang a song of togetherness with their loved ones, all filmed and done by themselves in their own homes.

Our Thoughts
The big idea here is to give elderly people 100GB of data free. That’s enough to stream 20,000 songs or watch 200 hours of online video or see and talk to your family in Skype or Whatsapp for 400 hours.
And if it helps provide Telia with more data about how Swedes of all ages are dealing with the virus, that seems a fair exchange
