Background

Every year 1,150 people in Flanders commit suicide. That's why the Suicide Prevention Hotline was looking for a recruitment campaign to strengthen their team...

Idea

How can you find the ideal candidate for the suicide prevention hotline? A phone was placed on the old market in Leuven and they let it ring... what happened next was filmed... On september 10 (world suicide prevention day) the film was released on social media... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3jRlYiP030

Results

Right now (2 days after the release) the 'zelfmoordlijn' already has 300 applications which is amazing since right now they only have 80 volunteers working for them. It made it to prime time news on Belgian Nationale Television for 3 minutes. The 3 biggest national newspapers devoted an article (online & offline) on the campaign. National radiostations interviewed people from 'de zelfmoordlijn' and generated a lot of PR. More results to come I guess...
