Background
An endless flood of spam emails fills not only our inboxes - it also increasingly fills our days and nightmares...To help solve this problem, in March this year Cisco launched the IronPort Anti-Spam Application as part of the Cisco Self-Defending Network. A low-cost interactive campaign was needed to build awareness of this new product amongst the high-tech target group.
Idea
You want to get rid of annoying spam emails? Well, go to Cisco and see how the worldwide market leader for network security solutions solves the problem. Spam by spam using the Analogue Spam Shredder installation. Or automated with the new Anti-Spam functionality built into Cisco Network Security Applications.
To see your own spam being shredded, you can mail it to [email protected]. If there is no queue, it will take about 20 seconds until you see your individual mail being shredded on the installation.www.spam-shredder.de
Results
The spam shredder has become a popular viral tool, written about in blogs around the world. Every day it shreds hundreds of pieces of spam.
Our Thoughts
One of the editorial team, who shall be nameless, thought this idea was so environmentally unfriendly we shouldn’t include it. Yes, it’s wasteful to print out each spam e-mail but you’ll only do it once. And once is enough to make the point convincingly that Cisco can help you filter out the nonsense that fills up your in-box.
