Background
During the pandemic Lidl Sweden decided to support local food suppliers in need. By bringing them into Lidl’s stores the suppliers got a chance to keep selling their products, while Lidl’s customers got even more Swedish food to choose from. With this campaign ad agency Volt put light on this initiative by letting the suppliers thank Lidl’s customers for buying their products and supporting them in hard times.
Idea
To stand out in a busy social media context Volt had to create a campaign with a loud and clear scroll stopping effect. They did so by using optical illusions that made the campaign literally break the boundaries of Instagram posting.
Results
The result was a campaign that with relatively small means conveyed the message in a hugely effective way. Everything made with the actual suppliers as “models” and that special touch of quirkiness that has become typical for the Lidl Sweden brand.
