Background

Winters in Northern Europe are long and dark. As many as half of the Swedish population suffer from vitamin D deficiency during these months. In several cases, this leads to a depression-like disorder called ”The Winter Blues”.

The mission was to communicate Apotek Hjärtat’s expertise in supplements and vitamins to replace the positive effects of the sun, in a new and innovative way.

Idea

Light Therapy Display

With the help of Light Therapy a space that’s normally used for commercial purposes was turned into a platform for the well-being of consumers. The window was custom built with fluorescent lamps to mimic the intensity and temperature of natural daylight.

Results

Light Therapy Display became a huge success, not only for locals who visited the window for their dose of light therapy, but all over the world. International media were quick to pick up the news of Apotek Hjärtat replacing a full commercial space for the well-being of their consumers.

- 250 000 pedestrians passed by during the week-long campaign

- 11 000 minutes of replacing a commercial space with well-being, light therapy.
