Background

Powershop, Australia’s greenest power company, is committed to helping Australians reduce their impact on the environment. With the climate crisis affecting everything from wildlife, to our way of life, Powershop wanted to inspire more people to take climate action.

Idea

The Story of Your Power – An interactive kids book featuring climate vulnerable animals that responds to household energy consumption via smart meter data. The better a family’s energy use is, the better the story becomes. Kids and parents are tasked with helping ‘Goldie’ the climate threatened frog prepare for a party while also learning valuable energy saving lessons. When they return to read the next day, Pond Party responds to whether their energy use has improved, or increased.

Results

Pond party has helped inspire thousands of Australian families to reconsider how they use energy, and it remains available ongoing as a valuable resource to educate people how to better use energy in their homes.
