Background
The Migros Christmas campaign reminds us with the story of little Finn to never leave anyone all alone.
Idea
We place our items on the checkout counter belt. A red light blinks and there is a beep. We pack away our purchases. But has anyone ever wondered where the red light actually comes from? What is going on beneath the pane of the register scanner? This year's Migros Christmas film provides the answer and opens the door to a magical world in Migros stores. It tells the story of little Finn, who lives underneath the register scanner and helps the sales staff in scanning products. From beneath the glass pane, the small Migros gnome observes how customers are preparing for the Christmas season and purchasing decorations and many tasty things for the holidays. He now also wants to celebrate Christmas. However, he quickly realizes that decoration alone is not enough. Christmas is the holiday of being together with friends and family. And so we get to experience how Finn breaks out of his isolation and makes new friends. This touching story thereby emphasizes Migros' motto this year: "We leave no one all alone. Instead we celebrate together." With this motto, Switzerland's most popular retailer is collecting donations to work with its charity partners Caritas, HEKS, Winter Relief, Pro Juventute and Pro Senectute in helping people who feel left out in society. "Since its founding, Migros has been contributing toward the common good. Social responsibility is part of our DNA," says Roman Reichelt, Head of the Marketing Communication Division of the Federation of Migros Cooperatives.
