The economic impact of Covid-19 hit small to medium size businesses in New Zealand hard. A health crisis rapidly became an economic crisis. SMEs are the backbone of New Zealand’s economy, making up 97% of New Zealand businesses, providing about 600,000 jobs and contributing around 26% of New Zealand’s GDP. More than that, they are Mums and Dads, families and entrepreneurs all who are doing it tough at the moment.
