Background
Most customers still use paper invoices. Even though it is expensive, non-ecologic and it's not even necessary because of accounting. In all these respects electronic invoices are better because they save our time, money and the nature.
Idea
If we don’t want to send customers paper invoices any more, why should we send them direct mail shots full of paper? Therefore, they have decided to send them the very same envelope that they are used to getting an invoice in, but with one large surprise. No invoice. After opening it, customers ascertain that it is empty and that on the inside they find the statement: Invoice missing here? Don’t look for it here, but on the internet. By doing this you save money and the environment.
Results
From 12 000 addressed customers only less than 5 % got back to the printed invoices.
Out of 12000 addressed customers only 4 contacted the customer hotline. So they managed to prevent the large number of calling customers
