Background

In a competitive market, Oktober wanted to be top-of-mind with key decision-makers in agencies, Executive Creative Directors and Heads of TV.

Idea

To highlight the quality of Oktober’s work and to suggest that their involvement in any job can improve it immeasurably, luxurious velvet bags subtly branded with the Oktober logo were mailed out. Inside, like an award of some sort, were highly polished turds made from solid brass.

Results

It is too early to measure the effect of the campaign in terms of increased business but the client was inundated with phonecalls, emails and texts congratulating him on the idea. After all it not every day such a well finished piece of shit lands on your desk.

Our Thoughts

Kiwis, Aussies and Brits have a keenly developed sense of irony and few creative directors would not put this on the shelf alongside their Lions, pencils and other bits of polished metal.

We all produce crap at times but we still want it to look as good as possible. So there is a real insight into the creative mind here. That said, I’m not sure it would have gone down quite so well with CD’s in France, say.
