Background

Druga Prilika (Second Chance) wanted to encourage more people to give homes to abandoned dogs.

Idea

Bruketa&Zinic’s idea was to show people what it could be like to come home to a dog waiting for them. They pushed leaflets under the doors of 5,000 apartments. When people came home they saw a cute puppy looking up at them from the doormat and reminding them he could welcome them home every day if they just picked him up from Druga Prilika.

Results

Full results not available, but within three weeks of the campaign, 10 dogs had found new homes and the number of calls to Druga Prilika had increased significantly.

Our Thoughts

In what are patronisingly called ‘the emerging markets’, there is work to be found every bit as good as work from the US or the UK. At first, this piece looks like a self-conscious attempt to win awards but on further inspection I think it rather deftly recreates the experience of having a dog – as you look down, he looks up, with suitably adoring eyes.
